FCS 325 — Clothing Construction

• identify fabric appropriate for different garment construction
• design and construct simple and complex trending garments
• demonstrate proficiency in applying technologies to design and construct garments; and
• identify and assess the functional, technical, and aesthetic aspects of apparel

Course contents

Fabric identification and selection for garments construction. Concept of clothing fluency. Fashion producers and designing in clothing. Tailoring tricks. Basic clothing construction methods and garment embellishment. Fundamental of decorative details. Advanced tailoring tricks. Laying of pattern and transferring pattern lines.
