Course contents

Forms of petroleum: solid, liquid and gaseous forms. Surface and subsurface occurrence of petroleum. Accumulation of organic matter and concept of source rock; transformation of organic matter and hydrocarbon generation. Migration of hydrocarbon. Properties of petroleum reservoir, traps, and seals. Abnormal pressure. Exploration methods.
