SVG 201 — Basic Surveying I

What you'll be able to do (official learning outcomes)

• After the completion of this course, students should be able to:
• carryout measurements, apply necessary corrections to attain required accuracy
• use simple methods of Surveying and Geoinformatics to collect geospatial data; and
• process acquired data and produce surveying plans at suitable scales

Course contents

Basic principles and methods used in ranging, chaining, off-setting, measurement of tie and check lines. Principles and methods used in chain surveying. Carrying out measurements and plotting of chain survey of an area. Sources of errors, corrections and accuracy attainable in chain surveying.
