The role of the chemical engineer. Units and dimensions. The mole unit. Conventions in the method of analysis and measurement. Temperature. Pressure. Physical and chemical properties and measurement. Techniques of solving problems. The chemical equation stoichiometry, material balances in single units, recycle, bypass, purge. This course will be supported with guest lectures from senior chemical engineers in industries, government and academia. 200 Level
