Course contents

The nature of archaeological evidence. How archaeological sites are formed. The history of archaeology and how it became a modern science. Archaeological theories and models of explanation including the 3 Age system, diffusion, migration and invention. The culture history approach. Culture ecology. Systems theory and ethno archaeology.
