GCE 203 — Counselling for Special Needs People

• discuss the psychological challenges of children with disabilities
• describe the counselling and educational interventions to be used with gifted children; and
• examine the role of counselling in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities

Course contents

A study of the nature and categories of special needs people. Brief history of special needs education. Psychological needs of the gifted and talented children. Counselling needs of children with intellectual and learning disabilities. Counselling needs of children with physical and health impairments.
