IRM 402 — Database Construction and Management

• be conversant with query languages
• identify and solve database management issues; and
• be proficient with issues related to data integrity and security

Course contents

Definition, concepts and scope of database management; introduction to the database approach; File management systems; information retrieval systems and database management systems. Types of database system models; systems analysis for databases; requirement analysis, requirement specifications.
