• identify the sources of the Nigerian tax laws
• present an overview of tax administration in Nigeria
• prepare the income liability of a taxpayer from a given set of information

• certain the tax liability of a partnership business from a given set of data; and

Course contents

Introduction to taxation. Tax administration in Nigeria. National tax policy (NTP), 2017. Basic ethical issues in taxation. Returns, assessments, remittances, objections and appeal. Withholding tax (WHT). Value Added Tax (VAT). Stamp duties. Customs and Excise duties. Personal Income Tax. Taxation of sole proprietorship.
