Course contents

Meaning of sound. Types of sound – speech, music and noise. Relationship between acoustic phonetics and other branches of phonetics. Introduction to acoustic phonetics – amplitude, loudness, duration, continuous sound, impulse-like sound, intensity, frequency, cycle, period, timbre, transducer, attenuation, etc.
