Social, ethical, legal, and managerial issues in the application of information technology in government, organisations, and industry. Foundations of intellectual property. Ownership of information. Plagiarism, Software piracy. Fairness in the workplace. Digital millennium copyright act. Patents. Trademarks and trade secrets.
