MTS 432 — Port Health and Safety

• acquire adequate knowledge in monitoring, investigating, and addressing current hazards relating to health and safety in and around the seaport
• identify pathogen carrying organisms around the seaport
• develop methods of controlling disease vectors
• describe the life history of diseases causing organism around the seaport; and
• list the various port diseases and their causative agents

Course contents

This course is aimed at training to support the role of the public health officials in and around the seaport. It addresses issues concerning activities such as monitoring, investigating, and addressing current as well as potential hazards relating to food borne diseases and human contamination.
